After a successful month-long test run, my ambitious effort to consume at least one tasty taco every day for the next year will commence tomorrow (8-30-07) to correspond with the first day of college football.
If you go to Colorado with Dupe again and let him talk you into buffalo instead of Tacos, I will be dissapointed. Also, I researched the Philipines for you, they have Taco Bell. Good luck.
I'm jumping on this wagon, committing myself to at least 182.5 of the 365 days! I began the adventure today on 1st and Mission Streets at a homely cantina known as El Farro! The order... One Crispy Beef Taco, One Chicken Soft Taco and a handful of crispy homemade tortilla chips from a little old lady that calls me Mi`jo! Life doesn't get any better!
Why would I set out to succeed in such a fantastic endeavor? The reasons are 3-fold.
#1) It's funny. This is the driving force behind my climb of the daunting mountain of tacos that looms before me.
#2) After much research, I have come to conclude that taco's may be the perfect health food! Each delicious pouch of Mexican goodness has the complex carbs (tortilla), protein (chicken, beef, pork, fish, ect.) , good fats (avocado) , fiber (beans) , and vegetation (salsa) to constitute a self-contained balanced meal.
#3) Most importantly: Taco's are just sooooooo damn TASTY!
As the the next 365 days (actually 366 because it is a leap year) tick by, I will be posting a picture of each taco I consume, along with a short (or long if I'm feeling particularly verbose that day) description of my experience with said taco.
Thank you in advance for you support. I wouldn't be able to succeed without so many of you backing me in this effort. Fred fred@thedailytaco.com
