Day 92: Mai Tai bar at the Royal Hawaiian

Tacos and cocktails served in a Pineapple. Is there a better combination? I can safely say I don't know for sure, but it would take something really special to convince me otherwise. The Mai Tai bar was the perfect setting for tacos on a beautiful Friday in Waikiki. I found the E.P. and a Mohakioed Larz staked out at what may have been the best table in all of Hawaii. Two feet from the beach with an unobstructed view of Diamondhead, I could scarcely believe that the Daily Taco would be lucky enough to post from such a serene locale. Fresh Mahi Mahi in crispy corn tortillas jumped out from the menu as a perfect way to complete my daily taco requirement.

  1. That is a great taco enjoying locale. I am looking forward to the rest of the posts as well as the photo gallery. And yes, I feel a little less than 100% this Monday. And yes, walking (well hobbling on my lacerated foot) into work this AM at 5, all I could think was that I should have definately upgraded to 1st class.

  2. I know this is a late post, but I thought that it should be mentioned that the S.T.U.D. Eric would not have appreciated Lars' order of the Mai Tai's at the Royal Hawaiian Mai Tai bar. I think it was specifically (while pointing at the drink on waitresses tray) "I would like one of those (Mai Tai) with all of that jungle in it". I think that goes against the S.T.U.D.'s rule of "No Garnishes" in his drinks. I propose that at the next So Cal Taco gathering, the Eric's battle it out for a final decision, is it acceptable to garnish a cocktail. Maybe we can have a vote on the site?
