Tonight I decided to kick it old school with a pound of ground beef and a packet of McCormick's taco seasoning. When I was a more youthful taco coniseur, I spent an extensive amount of time (and ate a large percentage of my meals) at the Chez's parents house. On the very few occasions (very, very few) that we did not order our meals from Monterey Pizza, these quick tacos were a much needed (and delicious) change of pace. Brown the meat, pour in the seasoning packet, add water, and presto: the foundation for some great tacos done in just minutes! Add some beans, cheese, and chopped up veggies, and a well balanced taco bar was ready for consumption. For my little trip down memory lane this evening I added a non-traditional jalapeno chipotle crema to spice things up a bit, but otherwise was true to this recipe from my childhood.

happy valentine's day salty one!
As I lounge on my couch with some vino, I decided to chide Senior Salty over not including Monterrey Pizza's phone number, after all, it was so commonly called and ordered. As we laughed about the omission, we realized neither of us could remember the number. A delicious taco to whoever post the correct phone number first. The Salty One is not eligible for this contest as he admits not knowing on the couch.
585-5858. Bonus question: what was the number for Round Table on West Portal?
566-3566
The Round Table still feeds the public on West Portal, the owner also caters for USF at all of their functions. And as an extra bonus he was in the sucke's pool NFL pool 2 years ago.
